Animal activist on ‘Most Wanted Terrorists’ list

The FBI for the first time has placed an animal rights activist on the bureau’s “Most Wanted Terrorists” list. FBI announced Tuesday the addition of Daniel Andreas San Diego to the list, in hoping to blowout international publicity associated with the move will help investigators find him after six years on the run. San Diego at age 31 may also be associated with terrorist such as al Qaeda’s Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and Adam Yahiye Gadahn. The “strict vegan,” according to the FBI, is charged with bombing two corporate offices in California in 2003. The blasts caused extensive property damage but no deaths. Authorities alleged that he had bombed facilities in Emeryville and Pleasanton, California, because he believed the Chiron and Shaklee Corporations had ties to animal-testing labs. After both bombings, e-mails from a group called “The Revolutionary Cells-Liberation Brigade” claimed responsibility for the acts.

That’s pretty crazy how an every day guy as you might think, also an animal right’s activist can be on the top terrorist list. It’s pretty scary to think about.

Trial begins in slaying of transgender woman

She was an 18 year old transsgeneder woman and he was a 32 year old gang member. It basically ended in homicide. Zapata was 18 years old in the summer of 2008 when prosecutors say she met Andrade, then 32, on the popular online networking site MocoSpace. According to some police the two arranged to meet and she was brought back to his apartment in Greeley, Colorado, where they spent two days together.During that time she had some sexual relations with him. when she left he noticed photograph’s of her and started to question “her” gender. When she returned to his apartment she anounced that she was all woman but he soon found out that wasn’t the case. What happened next was surely very gruesome. According to the affidavit, Andrade told police he began hitting Zapata with his fists, knocking her to the ground. He then grabbed a fire extinguisher and hit her in the head two times. He told police he thought he had “killed it,” referring to Zapata, and covered her with a blanket. He then set about trying to clean up the crime scene. While doing this, he heard “gurgling” sounds coming from the victim and saw Zapata sitting up. He hit her again with the fire extinguisher.

This time Zapata was dead.

What the man did was wrong on so many levels. i hope so much he gets what he deserves.

biden puppy distresses breeder

There is some controversy going due to the fact that Biden gets a puppy from a breeder. First of all it is perfectly fine to get a dog from a breeder it is no inhumane in any way (as long as the dogs are being taken care of right). The dog breeder expressed that she truly paid the price for all that publicity. PETA and other animal-rights groups were really going down hard on that breeder. Soon after the visit she claims she received death threats from animal-rights groups. Dog wardens from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture also made multiple visits to inspect her kennels. These inspections took place around twice a year.  Brown was cited for poor record keeping, dirty housekeeping and mistreating her dogs. Last month she was cleared of all citations. “It hurts the depth of your soul that they would even have the nerve to call me and tell me that I’m inhumane with my dogs. My dogs are treated better than most children are treated.”

It’s crazy what all happened to that breeder. Her dogs are perfectly fine and healthy so there shouldn’t be an issue. Besides PETA is being very hypocritical about how if you get a dog from a breeder you kill one in a shelter. Because actually most of the animals they rescued were  euthanized anyways. I just feel horribly for all the things that breeder was put through.

The republican Party

The Republican Party is one of the two major contemporary parties in the United States. This party is currently the second largest party with 55 million registered voters. There have also been nineteen republican presidents. Republicans currently fill a minority of seats in both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, hold a minority of state governorships, and control a minority of state legislatures. The GOP is usually seen as the traditionally pro-business party and it garners major support from a wide variety of industries from the financial sector to small businesses. This may relate to the fact that Republicans are about 50 percent more likely to be self-employed, and are more likely to work in the area of management.

Me personally not such a great fan of the Republican Party. More son it’s the candidate’s views more than anything. What currently made me even more anti-republican you could say was Sarah Palin. She basically mixed the ideas of church and state because she was very religious and she brought that into politics and I strongly disagree with that.

Exit polls conducted in 2000, 2004 and 2006 indicate that 23–25% of gay and lesbian Americans voted for the GOP. In recent years, the party has opposed same-sex marriage, adoption by same-sex couples, and inclusion of sexual orientation in hate crimes laws, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, while supporting the use of the don’t ask, don’t tell policy within the military. The opposition to gay rights found in the Republican Party largely comes from the very religious and socially conservative portion of the party.

Another thing I disagree strongly within the Republican Party or just in general. Stop judging people by their sexual orientation I says nothing about the person. I feel that issue should not be brought up in politics.

NO BUENO!!!

Oops! Obama’s press having some email issues :P
April 9, 2009, 5:14 pm

So it looks like obama and the press are having some email problems. The White House Press Office accidentally e-mailed a draft version of President Obama’s Thursday schedule on Wednesday night that included the back-and-forth between White House staffers. There is an email sent daily to inform the media of the next day’s events. At first it seemed to be like any other press schedule. But at the bottom of the e-mail, there was a series of exchanges from the press team, as well as a draft of the schedule.

One staffer, recommending changes to that line, wrote to “put more emphasis on the real people aspect of this.”

The draft schedule also showed the president hosting Seder to celebrate Passover. The dinner was marked “closed press,” meaning no reporters allowed.

One staffer asked, “Can we remove the dinner at the end of the day?”

I just thing this is all so silly for now. on the other hand though they need to be more careful on what emails they send out because they may send out something that could really cause alot of problems.

Immigration issues for alabama
April 1, 2009, 4:46 pm

Immigration is a big issue that has been going on for many years. In the Anniston Star it discusses that the number one issue for Alabama is illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is a federal issue at the border, but once they cross that line the state is forced to deal with it. In the previous spring, the legislature felt it necessary to established the Joint Interim Patriotic Immigration Commission and stated that “the unprecedented influx of non-English speaking immigrants requires Alabama policy makers to confront a growing critical public-policy crisis and that states must exercise power to investigate, apprehend, detain, and remove illegal aliens.” Stated by the legislature “immigration has become a paramount governmental issue, yet there is no coherent and comprehensive plan for the state to address the large numbers of illegal aliens.” Due to this problem, the commission was charged to “conduct a fact-finding study on immigration issues and to issue a commission report outlining suggestions and proposals to address the issues of illegal and legal immigration in Alabama.”

Immigration is very concerning to the state of Alabama. Once illegal immigrants have crossed the border Alabama is forced to deal with this issue.

I’m not saying I’m against immigration because thats not the case.  No matter when or where it’s a difficult issue to deal with. What is the right way to go along and deal with immigrants? Our economy is in a very bad state currently and how can we help support immigrants if we cant even support ourselves?

Also the 2000 Census found that 53.6% of Alabama’s population is foreign born. That is just crazy to think about. Over half! of our population is immigrants!!

Population Changes:

  • Alabama’s population increased by 10 percent between 1990 and 2000, and by 2.5 percent between 2000 and 2006, bringing Alabama’s total population to approximately 4.6 million.
  • FAIR estimates the illegal alien population in 2005 at 52,000. This number is 116% above the U.S. government estimate of 24,000 in 2000, and 940% above the 1990 estimate of 5,000.
  • According to an estimate of the Pew Hispanic Center, in 2005 there were an estimated 30,000 to 50,000 illegal aliens living in Alabama.

  • FAIR estimates in 2004 that the citizens of Alabama spent $34.4 million per year on illegal aliens in public schools.

North Korea rocket on launch pad

A North Korean rocket is due to launch sometime early next month. The satellite imagery shows the rocket at the Musudan-ri launch site in northeastern North Korea.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates expressed that there is little doubt that the planned launch is designed to bolster that North Korea’s military capability.

It’s also indicated that U.S. military could be prepared to shoot down a North Korean missile if the rogue regime develops the capability to reach Hawaii or the western continental United States in a future launch.

“The North Korean government says it will launch a commercial satellite atop a rocket sometime between April 4 and April 8.”

Lawmakers lashout over aig

The officials managing the bailout of AIG are getting an abundance of questions from angry lawmakers.

“AIG highlights broad failures of our financial system,” Geithner said. “Compensation practices encouraged risk-taking and rewarded short-term profits.”

“No legal means existed to resolve AIG to the way FDIC resolves a bank,” added Geithner. “The government was faced with no good options.”

The “officials” called on congress to allow regulators “resolution authority.” This would give the government power to reorganize or slow down a non-bank company. This may include selling off assets and subsidiaries. Also it would include imposing limits on executive compensation and taking action on risky holdings. It is said that government could have been better equpied for AIG’s risky business. It would have been better if AIG was more under control before its failure threatened to bring down the financial system.

Things should have been more under control. We cant do anything about what has made the failures but we can conserve are money so we can stop the failures or prevent worse economic conditions.
